At The Bridge, we have a wide range of volunteering opportunities available with a flexible, commitment-free schedule to suit you, including:
- Supporting our adults and young people with disabilities with their day to day activities
- Supporting our hot meal delivery service to vulnerable people in the community
- Supporting our catering and hospitality team at our kitchens or in our cafe
- Supporting people living with Dementia, or combating loneliness at our drop-in cafes and Lunch Club
- Supporting our horticultural team with your green fingered gardening skills
- Supporting our creative enterprises with various roles at Sudbury Arts Centre or our shop Create
- Supporting our back office function with your IT and administration skills
We will work around your interests and abilities, and give you all the training and support you need to feel confident and to develop your skills. We also provide a dynamic and flexible work experience programme. We collaborate with schools and colleges to facilitate this, but it’s equally open to individuals outside the educational system. Contact us for more information on Volunteering and Work Experience.
Our students love all our volunteers and we really appreciate having new ideas, new energy and the different skillsets they bring to the role. Our volunteers have such varied backgrounds, it’s fantastic.

Volunteer at The Bridge
We understand that you are giving up your time to work with us and our students, so we provide you with all the training necessary to do the role safely and efficiently.
Often, our volunteers have been out of a working environment for a long time, and these roles give those individuals the confidence to rejoin the workplace. This opportunity is a great way to give back to the community and to feel welcomed into a family.
Our safeguarding measures are in place to ensure each volunteer can work safely with our students, as they are our top priority.
Fundraising
We are always keen to hear about your fundraising ideas as we look to increase our impact and reach across our local communities. Your fundraising, regardless of how big or small, will aid us in supporting those without a voice.
The Bridge also hosts fundraising events throughout the year. We invite our community members to join us in celebrating and supporting the individuals who use our services. Please look out for more details on our social channels.
Application or Enquiry Details
Apply via email or give us a call, and we will invite you for a cup of tea and an informal discussion about why you would like to explore a fundraising idea or an opportunity to volunteer in Suffolk.
We work closely with corporate partners who share our values and want to make a difference in their communities. These partnerships provide an excellent opportunity for us to raise funds and awareness for our charity.
