About The Bridge Project:
The Bridge Project is a registered charity providing a range of services and activities aimed at enhancing the lives and independence of our community. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment to help those living with learning disabilities, dementia, and mental health issues. Our core services centre around food, health, creativity, and life skills, creating an inclusive system that promotes growth and personal development.
Responsibilities:
-Provide financial expertise and oversight to ensure the effective management of the charity’s finances.
-Work closely with the board and management team to develop and monitor budgets, financial plans, and investment strategies.
-Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, including charity law, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
-Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the charity’s financial stability and sustainability.
-Provide advice and guidance to the board on financial matters, contributing to strategic decision-making and planning.
Requirements:
-A strong background in finance, accounting, or related fields, with experience in financial management and reporting.
-Familiarity with charity governance principles, regulations, and best practices is desirable but guidance will be provided..
-A genuine interest in and commitment to advancing the charity’s mission.
-High levels of integrity, honesty, and accountability in managing the charity’s finances.
-Ability to work collaboratively with the board of trustees, staff, and volunteers, contributing constructively to discussions and decision-making.
-Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Time Commitment:
-Attend quarterly board meetings, typically lasting 2-3 hours each.
-Dedicate additional time to review financial reports, prepare presentations, and participate in financial discussions outside of board meetings.
-Be available to address financial matters and provide advice as needed between board meetings.
-Estimated Time: Approximately 8-10 hours per month, including board meetings and additional responsibilities.
